Enough is Enough!!!!!!!!!!!
This night is a night I have always looked forward to, a day I could voice my pain and struggle. A day of solidarity, to support my fellow women and our struggles in the society.
This Night made me realise nothing has changed since I was young, women are still out here fighting for safety, asking not to be killed, pleading to be seen as equals and mostly as fellow humans.
It bizarre to even ask for this or even protest for this, we are both humans, but what do you have against me for you to treat me this way, are you scared of me or what I can become? So many times I ask this question but no answer has been valid?
Do I hold less worth to you because you have a penis or because you look muscular?
Have you forgotten you came out of me, without me, there is no you, without you there is no me.
Is it that hard to understand?
This night was phenomenal ,as a lot of people showed out, children and both adult genders.
There was a kid with a sign that says educate your sons, that statement gave me hope, as it shows that people are become aware of the roots of some of the problems.
If things were going fine there wouldn’t be a need to protect our daughters or protesting about this. There is a male gender issue here and this has to be addressed.
Some people will never accept the statement above as this isn’t their experience and they can’t relate to but truly only a man of quality will be open minded enough to understand others pain when it is being voiced out.
This is called empathy and a lot of people lack it.
Stay away from people who invalidate this experience, as they are just as worse as the perpetrators.
Some People will say not all men?
We obviously know it’s not all men, but the highest percentage are men.
Men should be an ally by calling out their fellow men who are violent towards women, this is how changes happen. And fellow women should do the same. Helping each other makes life easier.
Will you be in a dangerous and traumatic situation and be happy with no one willing to save it?
Let’s think deeply, put our feelings aside and do right by each other. It’s hard but with time it gets better. We don’t have to be victims till we empathise with others.
Imagine someone being abused and you had a choice to do something, but you didn’t?
Sometimes having a conversation with the victim helps?
Asking how you can help, asking permission if the situations can be escalated.
Either it a yes or no. At least you tried, that’s part of being an ally.
There are so many ways to be helpful.
Saw two men wearing the #Andysmanclub# and I had to do my research. This is a group that helps men with difficulties with their mental well-being and I’m so glad there is a group that helps men to thrive, more even proud they came out to support women. There is also women equivalent , it’s called women’s well being club.
Little by little it’s coming all together, we all need to support each other regardless of the gender. I for one have always been about equality, I believe we are all the same, so far as we breath the same air.
No one is ever gonna be better than anyone and that’s our superpower.
